Season 3 Guide

from-contentful

The season 3 of World of Warcraft Dragonflight, Guardians of the Dream, is about to start! It includes as always a new Dungeon pool, new profession Embellishments, a new Raid (new trinkets) and much more, but that's mostly what we are concerned with at Key & Heal.

New Dungeon Pool

The new dungeon pool includes only 2 Dragonflight dungeons, and 5 returning dungeons. In general, dungeons will be slightly longer, and we can expect mechanics to take a central place. From the early testing on PTR, it seems that the main lever to climb the key levels will be survival, and that's all we talk about here at Key & Heal.

As a healer, your main concern is of course the healing checks. Here is a quick checklist of the toughest bosses this season (this list will evolve with tuning and community feedback):

Dungeon

Boss

Throne of the Tides

Commander Ulthok

Throne of the Tides

Ozumat

The Everbloom

Ancient Protectors

The Everbloom

Archmage Sol

Darkheart Thicket

Shade of Xavius

Black Rook Hold

Smashspite the Hateful

Atal'Dazar

Priestess Alun'za

Waycrest Manor

Heartsbane Triad

Waycrest Manor

Soulbound Goliath

DOTI: Galakrond's fall

Manifested Timeways

DOTI: Galakrond's fall

Blight of Galakrond

DOTI: Galakrond's fall

Iridikron

DOTI: Murozond's Rise

Tyr, the Infinite Keeper

DOTI: Murozond's Rise

Morchie

What's more, there are quite a few trash packs that are pretty deadly. Dawn of the Infinite dungeons in particular are absolutely deadly and packed with pass/fail mechanics. The Everbloom, Atal'Dazar and Waycrest Manor will be the interrupt/stop check. Darkheart Thicket and Black Rook Hold should be among the more approachable despite some tough 1-Hitters. Finally, Throne of the Tides revamped edition includes a bit of everything, do not go in there expecting simply mechanics!

New Trinkets

New Season of course means new trinkets and.. this may not be the most exciting season? There should be some bangers, but Rashok will be sorely missed for sure. We will focus on the healing trinkets for now as they are your main concern at the start of the season

Blossom - Raid (Fyrakk)

A pure healing trinket that is unlikely to make Rashok forgotten. The 1-min cooldown makes it clunky to play with. When it does work as you want to, the numbers are pretty good however. Might be easier to use reliably in raid

Pip's - Raid (Council of Dreams)

A weird stat stick, but the stats are so high that you will want it eventually, if you can snatch it from your DPS..

Seedling - Raid (Larodar)

An interesting trinket that basically converts Single Target healing into Group healing. However, having to target the seedling only for very specific use cases where it would be better than your AOE cooldowns makes it unlikely to see much play

Balefire Branch - Waycrest Manor

Probably a great raid trinket for Evoker and Disc Priest. Most likely not very interesting for M+

Music Box - Waycrest Manor

It all depends on tuning. The fact that it takes both slots for best throughput is probably a problem however.

Voodoo Totem - Atal'Dazar

Tt would be much better as an absorb. Now it is also the only pure single-target healing trinket (that you can control), which could have value for some classes. It can be a great tool for one specific spell: Crushing Depths. You would not need it apart from the absolute highest keys however.

Leaf of the Ancient Protectors - The Everbloom

It has gotten buffed and we will have to see if it is worth it. No Intellect is rough, but it can be very helpful especially early in the season with the numerous Single Target Healing checks. It has actually started to appear for specs that can use Mastery as a great tool to counter the numerous Healing Checks of this season. Try it out!

Amalgam - Black Rook Hold

A mana trinket, might be good in raid, probably unnecessary in Mythic +

Echoing Tyrstone - DOTI: Murozond's rise

A very decent healing trinket in mythic +. The lack of competition makes it look better too. Do not forget to charge it however!

Mirror - DOTI: Murozond's rise

This trinket efficiency will fully depend on tuning, but the total lack of control and randomness is probably bad.

Coagulated Genesaur Blood - The Everbloom

This will be a good stat stick, especially for classes that value Crit.

There are also some DPS trinkets that are worth mentioning:

Belor'relos, the Sun Caller - Raid (Tindral Sageswift)

This season's beacon, it will see a lot of play at high end, as the damage output is pretty unbalanced.

Augury of the Primal Flame - Raid (Firakk)

It is slightly RNG, but it can do a lot of damage in AOE.
